Benchmark Capital is pleased to announce the appointment of Brett Kirk as Chief Financial Officer, strengthening the firm’s financial leadership as it continues to grow its investment and development pipeline.
Brett brings more than two decades of senior executive experience across property development, private equity, FMCG, manufacturing and agribusiness, with a strong track record in capital management, funding strategy, governance and financial operations.
Most recently, Brett served as Group CFO of Hewitt, where he led a global financial turnaround, negotiated more than $100 million in international debt funding and established the financial infrastructure supporting a 4.4 million-acre operation across Australia and the Americas.
His previous roles include CFO and Board Member of Sara Lee Holdings and CFO of Baiada, where he supported the growth of the business from $196 million to $2.9 billion in revenue, oversaw a series of acquisitions and divestments and negotiated more than $400 million in core debt syndications.
Importantly for Benchmark, Brett also brings significant property development experience. While at Baiada, he served concurrently as CFO of Celestino, its property development arm, leading the financial structuring of major Sydney projects including The Gables and Sydney Science Park, alongside a development pipeline of more than 10,000 residential lots.
As CFO of the wider Arkaan Group, Brett will provide financial leadership across Benchmark Capital and its integrated property platform, with responsibility spanning financial strategy, capital management, funding, reporting, governance and structuring.

Brett is a CPA, a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a graduate of Western Sydney University.
His appointment further strengthens the leadership supporting Benchmark Capital as the business continues to deploy capital into carefully selected property opportunities and progress its growing Sydney development pipeline.
